Pirate Dress Up

Have the guest of honor look the part! We have plenty of Jake and the Never Land Pirates costumes, including Jake, Izzy, and more. You can also check out the huge selection of kids pirate costumes at our sister site, There’s something for everyone!

Hidden Treasure

Every proper pirate needs a stash of booty to plunder. Get a bunch of gold foil-wrapped chocolate coins, and hide bunches of them around the party setting. You can even draw up some “treasure maps” to help the partygoers get their hands on the treasure. Add some party favors to the mix, too – instead of just candy, the lucky pirates can go home with faux gold pieces, and the grand treasure hunt champion can take home the ultimate prize in the form of our light up diamond ring.

A Hearty Swig o’ the Grog!

Pirates were famous for three things: sailing the seven seas, plundering and pillaging, and having a belly fully of ale. For obvious reasons, that won’t do for kids, but they’ll love pirate punch. Just make a batch of your favorite juice-and-soda punch recipe like normal. The piratey twist is in the ice: make ice cubes using the brightly colored juice, break them down a little bit, and they’ll look like precious jewels floating in the bowl! Ginger ale and root beer also make for great kid-friendly pirate-themed drinks.

Walking the Plank

This party game requires a little construction, but don’t worry if you’re not handy – it’s super simple. Grab a few 2-by-4 boards from the hardware store. One of them will be the plank, and the others will support the plank a few inches off the ground (you could just as easily use any sort of block or box). Have the kids take turns trying to balance their way across, and reward them with a party favor when they make it! Make it competitive by seeing who can do it the most times in a minute, who can do it blindfolded, etc.

If you and your kids have a pirate party, let us know about it! We love seeing customer photos and action shots, so share them with us on Facebook and Twitter!
